Изображение
Today was the last day of our practice lesson. We have visited famous as the largest trading dome of Bukhara, Toki-Zargaron Trading Dome is the most northern dome . This trading dome is located near to Poi Kalyan. The elongated Toki-Zargaron dome is stretched upwards and strengthened with ribs.We knew that the name Zargaron comes from the word “zargar” which means “goldsmith”. Once there was 36 jeweller’s workshop, and this trading dome was the first among the trading domes of Bukhara. Today one can purchase there jewelleries and different accessories for the house .

Day 9:Piritdastgir

Изображение
Today was the last day of our practice. Our practice practice have started at 8:30 am.We gathered near the mosque and our duty Salomat told us the history of this mosque . Piri-dastgir mosque is one of the functioning mosques in the city of Bukhara, where there is also the tomb of Piri-dastgir.I liked that  the courtyard of the mosque is wide and can accommodate more than a thousand worshippers. Restroom is on the left from the entrance. The interior of the mosque is also spacious and comfortable. You can easily pray in summer and winter. Of course, the mosque also has its minaret, but it is mostly closed. The mosque is located behind the famous Chinor teahouse in the city. You can also find a prayer here.

Day 8:Boboyi Paradoz

Изображение
Today was the 8 th day of our practice lesson. Our destination was Boboyi Paradoz tomb. This tomb is located opposite the Jewish cemetery  on Ibrokhim Muminov Street. It is a rarely visited area by tourists though a popular place for locals with the Central Park being a short walk north . I do really like the entrance to the tomb complex it is through an impressive brick archway with star shaped designs on the underside. Continue walking along the path which is covered in grape vines and the tomb will come into view. It is a simple portal design with persian styled archway. The familiar use of tiles with blue shades is seen above the entrance.  Our today's duty -Shahrizoda told us a legend of the place:Boba Poraduz was a famous shoemaker and prophet, who lived in the 13th - 14th centuries. His shoes were of such high quality, that they are said to be worn by the faithful on the hajj to Mecca and still appear brand new on arrival. He was famous in Bukhara and his tomb is ...

Day 7:Turki Jandi tomb

Изображение
Today we have visited the place named as Turki Jandi tomb. That was the first time we have visited the mausoleum of Turki Jandi. This unrestored mausoleum lies just south of the city's main tourist zone, on the east side of Nomozgokh Street which leads eventually to the Namazgah Mosque. The exact age of the structure is uncertain  The life and career of Turki Jandi himself is something of a mystery—this author has not been able to find any reliable biographical information. Bird lovers may be interested to hear that the monument is crowned with a gigantic stork's nest, one of the few (and perhaps the only one) left in the city. Storks used to be common in Bukhara before land use changes and chemical fertilizers introduced in the Soviet era decimated their numbers from the mid-20th century onward.

Day 6:Chor Bakr

Изображение
Today our second week of practice have started. And today our destination was Chor Bakr.It takes us a long way to arrive but it deserves it. We gathered at 2 pm near the entrance and straight ahead we met lots of cute creatures like :squirrels, owls, ducks, peacocks, pigeons.  I really loved the  constructions in the Chor Bakr Memorial Complex because they have richly decorated polychromatic tiles. In many courtyards above burial places we saw, marble gravestones with epigraphic inscriptions, and vegetative and geometrical ornaments, are installed. The main highlighted point of attraction for  were the tombs at the necropolis of chor-bakr near bukhara. You should know, when Bukhara was under the Samanid dynasty, there lived an old family of Djuybar Seyyids who were Prophet Muhammad's descendants, they played an important role in the city's life. For centuries the Djuybars were buried in this country cemetery. You can visit the Necropolis Chor-Bakr and feel the breath o...

Day 5:Chor Minor

Изображение
Today was the fifth day of our practice. We all were trying to find the exact place of our today's destination. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of bright turquoise peeking out above a narrow monotone alley. Instantly drawn to the color, we turned and headed straight for it. Standing alone in a dirty open space was a four-pillar structure. At the top of each pillar, a turquoise dome rested. It was a small and relatively simple structure compared to some of the madrases, but it was lovely.   Our duties Nigina told us that The Chor Minor was an old gate for a madrasah that no longer exists, and each pillar has a different motif representing the four religions known in Central Asia at the time, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Zoroastrian . I also first was amused as one pillar had a fake stork nest on top, a common sight on many of the mosques, madrases, bazaars, and structures. Storks were a familiar and regal bird in the area and often made nests on high str...

Day 4:Toki Telpak Furushon

Изображение
Our practise is continuing. It is the fourth day of practice. ,we have started to learn about the trading domes of Bukhara:Toki Telpak Sarrafon .Each of them had its own functions and each of them has its own role in the history of Bukhara. By searching from the internet, books and with help of our duties coursemates, students are getting more information about the domes of Bukhara . Today I have learnt Bukhara Toki Telpak Furushon. We gathered near The Tok-i-Telpak Furushon at 12, that is another of the city’s four remaining bazaars. It is located on an important crossroads: five different roads lead here. And the fact I was expired with is that  this dome still sells traditional head wear such as fur hats and turbans for people of all ages and genders, as it has done for centuries. There is also a smithy at the entrance. And I think that it's a good idea that helps to keep our traditions and customs

Day 3:Seyyid Bandi Kushad

Изображение
Our 3rd practice took place today. We gathered at the monument of Magoki Attori at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Our practice began with a repetition and consolidation of the material covered Salomat, Nozima and Marjona were our guides, and first of all Nozima told us the history of this monument(Magoki Attori as a revision)  Then we were told the story and some of the most basic and interesting facts about the  building of Toki Telpak Furushon. However, our goal for today was to visit the monument of Sayid Bandi kushad. We went to this monument, covering our heads and there while we were waiting for people to come out, our classmates ,to be specific Salomat and Marjona told us the legend of this holy tomb. The story was very interesting and I did not even notice how quickly the time flew by. After we went to prayer, our practice ended for today. All in all ,I had to say that most of all I was excited by the legends of that holy place.

Day 2:Magoki Attori.

Изображение
Today was the second day of our practice lesson. We came to Labi Hauz to visit the Museum of the History of Carpet Weaving that is inside the Magoki Attori Mosque. But unfortunately it was cold and maybe that's why it was closed today. But as we have visited last year ,It’s a lovely collection of old rugs with some signs explaining the history of carpet weaving. The building is small but as for me beautiful and for the small entrance fee, it’s worth spending 10 minutes inside. This XII century historical mosque serves now as a carpet museum. It is part of the Labi Hauz. Our practiceteacher told us the history of the mosque:was built on the foundation of a zoroastrian temple and then used as local mosque . The entrance was completely fill because of sand storms. Another entrance was created as the original one was forgotten. It is not destroyed by the mongols.

Day 1 Taq-i -Sarrafon

Изображение
Today was the first day of our practice lesson. Our journey started at 12,in the afternoon. We meandered to one of the city’s centers, the Labi Hauz, or the gathering place around the pond .Our destination for today was Taq-i-Sarrafon,while crossing the Lyabi Hauz pond we have learned.  We continue our visit with one of the three remaining covered markets of the city, Taq-i Telpaq Furushon. Our teacher Matluba Axmedovna told us the purposes and functions of the building:To prevent the summer heat and unbearable winter winds in Asia, the steady stone vaults as Ancient Trading Domes In Bukhara and in many Turkestan cities became very helpful. It is very famous for the domed roof. Now it's the place of tourist shops, but in the past, each of these markets was specialized in a kind of supplies (knifes, clothes, hats...).  I was very inspired by that Domes and the function it contains in himself.
