Day 4

Today was the 4 day and the second week of our practice .And our destination was the monument is The Mausoleum Chashma-Ayub («The Source of Holy Iov») is situated not far from the gate Talipach, in the north-western part of Bukhara.




We have gathered there at around 14:00 and started observing,our practice teacher told us some intriguing facts  and the legend about such a holy place .It is one of the religious monuments of  architecture, which includes mausoleum and "holly source", "chashma" means “well”. There is an inscription near the well, which says that the mausoleum was built in 1379-1380 by experienced masters from Khorezm.


According to the legend, the monument has the connection with prophet Iov (Ayub) who once travelled here during drought and helped local people dying of thirst. When he struck with his staff, there was a source of crystal-clear water, which remains clear and healing. There are also museum of water and exhibition of carpets in this mausoleum.

  Khoja Mohammed Babai Samosi мая 11, 2023  Khoja Mohammed Babai Samosi - a representative of the Khodjagon-Nakhshbandia order, the fifth of the 7 feasts of Bukhari (13th century). He studied with Khoja Ali Romitani and after his death led the Khojagan Order. When Bahauddin Naqshband was born, he adopted him as a spiritual child and gave birth to Sayyid Mir Kulol.   Today was the first day of our practice lesson.Our journey started at 13:30,in the afternoon. We meandered to one of the city’s centers, the Labi Hauz, and from there all together went to our today’s destination -medrese of Abdulaziz-khan. Firstly,our practice teacher told us what daily work we should do during our 2 weeks practice:blogs,presentations,diaries and etc.And after getting acquainted we entered inside of the medresse The entrance was massive rectangular pillar with ornate arches decreasing in size until a regular human size wooden arched door appears. On either side of the entrance, two rows of arches stacked on top of each other. Every free space is covered in tiles of striking blues, greens, oranges, and gold. They come together to form beautiful Islamic script.There we have heard one interesting legend about the mosque. Day 5 :7 saints of Bukhara

  There are seven sacred Sufies in Bukhara.  And today we decided to visit all of them in a day .As a rule the tour starts from the grave of 1) Sheikh Abdul-Khaliq Abd Al Gijduvani , who founded School of the Central Asian Sufism. He always took a view that every imam must have his own job. There is Ulugbek madrasah near the new mosque, where pilgrims can pray.   2)   Muhammad Arif Ar Revgary began to learn Sufizm very early. When he was 19, he taught philosophy. His manuscript "Nafahat ul-uns" and "Arifnoma" are the only written evidences about the life of the famous Sufi. Having read his works, it is clear that Haja Arif Revgary was one of the most worthy successor of traditions and practices “Hadzhagana” 3) Hoja Mahmud Anzhir Fagnavy   was a famous Sufi of his time.
