Day 3:Ark

Today was the third day of our practice lesson.Our journey started at 10 in the morning. We meandered to one of the city’s centers, the Ark, or the gathering place around the building.


We had 2 guilds- duties our groupmates(Feruza and Nigora),who prepared for telling the history of our museum and Ark itself. 

We headed towards the Ark of Bukhara,there was a lot of people mostly school children as today it was the last day of studies for school children.


                                   Museums 

 A visit to the Arc is among the top things to do in Bukhara. It is a city within a city in the form of a majestic fortress. This fort is dated back to the 4th or 5th century AD. It remains in the use of Amir of Bukhara till 1920 when it was hit by severe damage due to an earthquake. Famous Central Asian scholars and writers, such as Ferdowsi, Rudaki, Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and Omar Khayyam lived and worked in the fortress.



It is a huge fortress and it took about two quick hours to go through it. There are about 8 types of different Museums in the Fortress and you can visit all of them with a single entry ticket,but as were students we entered for free.


We spent our time in the museums, different divans, and Havelies. From the roof, we got a panoramic view of the city. 


There was a unique souvenir shop in the Fortress from where you can get a few pieces for your way back home.


 After Ark of Bukhara, our next stop waus Zindan, which was used to be Amir’s prison in Bukhara. In Persian, Zindan means prison.


 It is built in the 18th century and consists of 5* 6-meter chambers with 6 meters digging height. It is said, about 40 prisoners can be kept inside it. Nowadays it is open for travelers as a Museum. We decided to take a thorough look from the outside and it was the end of our today's journey.

  Khoja Mohammed Babai Samosi мая 11, 2023  Khoja Mohammed Babai Samosi - a representative of the Khodjagon-Nakhshbandia order, the fifth of the 7 feasts of Bukhari (13th century).   Today was the first day of our practice lesson.Our journey started at 13:30,in the afternoon. We meandered to one of the city’s centers, the Labi Hauz, and from there all together went to our today’s destination -medrese of Abdulaziz-khan. Firstly,our practice teacher told us what daily work we should do during our 2 weeks practice:blogs,presentations,diaries and etc.And after getting acquainted we entered inside of the medresse The entrance was massive rectangular pillar with ornate arches decreasing in size until a regular human size wooden arched door appears. On either side of the entrance, two rows of arches stacked on top of each other. Every free space is covered in tiles of striking blues, greens, oranges, and gold. They come together to form beautiful Islamic script.There we have heard one interesting legend about the mosque. Day 5 :7 saints of Bukhara

  There are seven sacred Sufies in Bukhara.  And today we decided to visit all of them in a day .As a rule the tour starts from the grave of 1) Sheikh Abdul-Khaliq Abd Al Gijduvani , who founded School of the Central Asian Sufism. He always took a view that every imam must have his own job. There is Ulugbek madrasah near the new mosque, where pilgrims can pray.   2)   Muhammad Arif Ar Revgary began to learn Sufizm very early. When he was 19, he taught philosophy. His manuscript "Nafahat ul-uns" and "Arifnoma" are the only written evidences about the life of the famous Sufi. Having read his works, it is clear that Haja Arif Revgary was one of the most worthy successor of traditions and practices “Hadzhagana” 3) Hoja Mahmud Anzhir Fagnavy   was a famous Sufi of his time.
