Day 2 Minorai Kalon

Today was our 2 practice lesson. Our today's aim was Minorai Kalon and also we have visited the art gallery of modern art.Our today's duties:Nozima and Sevara told interesting facts about Minora. We crossed the empty outdoor space to  madrasah, which had not yet undergone any restoration. I could barely make out any of the faded colors in the ancient paint. Inside was a mostly abandoned courtyard with some broken furniture and old rugs hanging in the corners.

After a long road, finally we burst into the main square, Kalon Square. One of the most jaw-dropping areas. By standing under the shade our duties told us couple of legends about the construction.Legend says that those ancient and unique structures have been preserved for such a long time thanks to adding camel milk and egg-yolk into the cement. One of the legends says that in the past this minaret used to be also a place of executions. Those who were condemned to death had to climb to the top and jump. So, anothe of the legends says that one young wife who was caught cheating on her husband was condemned to be executed like this. But the ruler decided to fulfill her last wish. She wanted to wear her favourite clothes. She put on everything she had saying that she loved all of her clothes and it helped her to stay alive because the clothes cushioned her fall.

To one side, the most beautiful madrasah loomed the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah. Behind the arch entrance, two turquoise domes dominated the skyline behind it. It was still in operation after all these years, and students came and went talking with each other in excited tones. We were not able to enter this madrasah but we took some pics there:

By sitting there we saw a lots of people like artists and musicians. Here some works of young artists.
On  the other side, a stunning yet more understated mosque, the Kalon Mosque, stood with its door ajar. We peaked out heads in and went down the stairs into the large courtyard in the middle.  A lone tree stood in the middle next to what appeared to be an old well. And we also took pics under that lone tree:

We had a big company of tourists amd  members of other groups. After exploring in every fine detail of this masterful piece of art.We decided to visit a museum of national and modern art:

So that was the end of our 2 day of practice.
